Taming the Bear is a 12 week class designed to teach emotional intelligence and a concrete method for identifying and changing the limiting beliefs that keep you stuck in painful and unproductive patterns. Practicing the tools we teach increases emotional regulation and resilience to life's difficult moments.

The curriculum is based on the practice of cultivating the capacity to witness yourself and your life with self compassion and acceptance. These skills build the ability to see and hold the truth of your current moment, whatever the roots and however great the discomfort. This in turn allows you to shift how you see the world, and thus, how the world feels to you.

After taking this class, students are able to bring their best self to their work, relationships, and perhaps most importantly, to how they engage with themselves. Changing your limiting beliefs frees you up to respond to life instead of continually reacting out of old patterns. You can create a life that honors your values and supports your needs. In short, you are able to shift out of survival mode and live life with greater confidence, compassion, and conviction.

Taming the Bear is a 12-week online class that teaches you the skills you need to choose differently when faced with life’s inevitable stressors. Each week you learn simple practical skills that, when practiced, will change your relationship with stress.

and, most importantly, you will learn how to change these beliefs forever so they no longer rule your life

This 12-week class provides 2 short weekly video lectures, weekly live calls with the instructors, an active community forum, handouts and simple homework exercises for you to practice what you are learning. The lessons are archived so you can come back to them again and again. It sounds like a lot but we have designed this class to maximize value while still fitting into your busy schedule. All the pieces come in small chunks that you can do on your own time.

Taming the Bear teaches you a transformation process based on practical, do-able skills that anyone can learn to transform their relationship with stress.

You begin to question your basic assumptions and soon you respond to stressful situations differently. You'll experience less emotional reactivity.

Practice these skills over and over, and soon the process becomes second nature. When this happens, change happens naturally.
